At halftime of the Packers @ Cowboys game, it appeared the Green Bay Packers 2013 season was over. The Packers were down 26-3 and in danger of being 1.5 games behind the Bears. Their playoff chances looked abysmal. Then, it happened; Matt Flynn marched on the field and turned into the Packers guardian angel. Flynn drove them down and eventually cut the game to 29-24. The Packers appeared to intercept the pass, but after replay, they ruled the interception incomplete, even though it appeared to a catch.
Dallas would drive down the field and lead 36-24. Once again, Packers fans thought they were finished. Matt Flynn drove down the field for a touchdown to make the score 36-31. Still with about 4 minutes left, it was still highly unlikely for the Packers to win. Then, Tony Romo delivered a long pass attempt to Dez Bryant. The pass was nearly intercepted. I sat there hoping for a Christmas miracle. I got my wish. Sam Shields jumped in front of a pass intended for Miles Austin and intercepted the ball, which led to a leaping touchdown by rookie of the year candidate, Eddie Lacy. Dallas had 1:31 left and trailed 37-36. They got the ball, and Romo completed a nice pass to Cole Beasley for 11 yards. Then Romo threw another interception. The pass landed in the hands of Tramon Williams, the one who got the interception reversed earlier, but was called incomplete. Mike McCarthy got in the refs face and yelled for a timeout, which allowed time for a replay. The replay showed Williams had clearly caught the football. Packers would kneel it and win, 37-36. This now sets up, if the Detroit Lions get defeated on Monday Night Football, complete control of their own destiny.
